The democratic candidate for Missouri Congressional District 8, Randi McCallian, will be interviewed by the Southeast Missourian on Monday, September 30th for their “Pints & Politics” series at the Rust Media building.
McCallian was able to obtain this interview because of a group of volunteers who wrote to the Southeast Missourian and actively protested at Jason Smith’s “Pints & Politics” interview; Jason Smith is the republican and incumbent candidate for the same race. These volunteers organized themselves because they did not see both sides of the political spectrum being interviewed, or local reporting holding an elected representative accountable. After this protest, McCallian was asked to join in for “Pints & Politics.”
“This goes to show that people want to see everyone represented, especially in their local media. I feel proud to have that turnout, and I am looking forward to interviewing with the Southeast Missourian to share a different perspective,” said Randi McCallian.

Randi McCallian is the democratic candidate for Congressional District 8. For 20 years, she has worked to support families and children in the hospital and healthcare industries. McCallian and her family reside in Rolla, Missouri. For the 8th Congressional District, her campaign runs on jobs and infrastructure investment, rural healthcare access, medical privacy, and housing support for communities.
